Sheet Metal Designer

Key Responsibilities

· Design Creation:

Conceptualize and design sheet metal products, components, and systems, including enclosures and structural parts.

· CAD Modeling:

Use CAD software to create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and engineering specifications for fabrication.

· DFM Analysis:

Incorporate Design For Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize designs for efficient production, minimizing waste and cost.

· Material & Process Selection:

Select appropriate materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel) and fabrication processes (bending, welding, cutting) for designs.

· Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, production teams, and manufacturing personnel to review designs and address fabrication issues.

· Prototyping & Testing:

Manage prototyping and testing phases to validate designs and identify areas for improvement.

· Documentation:

Ensure that drawings and specifications are consistent with fabrication and machining processes.

· Technical Support:

Provide technical information to support quoting, purchasing, and production activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is often required.

· CAD Software Proficiency: Expertise in CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.

· Sheet Metal Knowledge: Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, forming, cutting, welding, and fastening.

· Material Expertise: Knowledge of various sheet metals and their properties.

· DFM & Optimization: Ability to apply Design For Manufacturing principles to create cost-effective and efficient designs.

· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot design challenges.

· Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month
