ServiceNow CMDB Functional Consultant

As a ServiceNow CMDB Functional Consultant, your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a CMDB system for the organization. You will be responsible for collecting and organizing information about hardware, software, and other IT assets, including their relationships and dependencies. Your strong understanding of IT infrastructure and configuration management principles, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, will be crucial for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze the organization's current IT infrastructure and identify areas for improvement in configuration management. - Develop a strategy and roadmap for implementing a CMDB system, including identifying necessary data sources and integration points. - Collaborate with various IT teams to gather and validate configuration data. - Define and document the data model and taxonomy for the CMDB, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. - Configure and customize the CMDB tool to meet the organization's specific needs. - Conduct data quality checks and implement processes for ongoing data maintenance and governance. - Provide training and support to end-users on effective use of the CMDB system. - Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate and timely updates to the CMDB as changes are made to the IT infrastructure. - Conduct regular audits of the CMDB to ensure data accuracy and completeness. - Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the CMDB, such as data quality, compliance, and usage. - Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in CMDB management and make recommendations for improvement. - Work with external vendors and consultants as needed to support the CMDB system. Qualifications Required: - Strong knowledge of ITOM Modules and CMDB. - Experience with CMDB Class Manager, Class Hierarchy, and CMDB Manager policies. - Strong knowledge of Identification, Normalization, and Reconciliation rules. - Configuration of CMDB classes and attributes, and provide guidance on ITOM best practices. - Good Knowledge of TBM Taxonomy and its relationship with CMDB.,
