Job Title: ITOM CMDB Functional Consultant

Role Overview:

The ITOM CMDB Functional Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the IT Operations Management (ITOM) framework, CMDB, CSDM & FSO. This role ensures accurate configuration data, supports IT service delivery, and enables effective incident, problem, and change management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CMDB Design & Implementation

• Define and implement CMDB architecture aligned with ITIL best practices.
• Configure and maintain CI classes, relationships, and attributes.
• Ensure integration of CMDB with discovery tools and other ITOM modules.

• Data Governance & Quality

• Establish and enforce data quality standards for CMDB.
• Perform regular audits and reconciliation of configuration data.
• Develop processes for CI lifecycle management.

• Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with ITSM, ITOM, and infrastructure teams to ensure CMDB supports business needs.
• Provide functional expertise during workshops and requirement gathering.

• Process Development

• Define and document CMDB-related processes (e.g., CI onboarding, updates, retirement).
• Support compliance and regulatory requirements through accurate configuration data.

• Reporting & Analytics

• Develop dashboards and reports for CMDB health and compliance.
• Provide insights to improve IT operations efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of

  ITIL framework

  , especially Configuration Management.
• Hands-on experience with

  ServiceNow CMDB

  or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of

  ITOM modules

  (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management).
• Familiarity with

  data modeling

  , CI classes, and relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist CMDB or ITOM.
• Experience in

  automation and integration

  with CMDB.
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
