Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Installation and Commissioning:

• Install and set up agricultural machinery and equipment at farms or dealerships.
  
• Ensure machines are calibrated and functioning according to manufacturer specifications.
  

2. Routine Maintenance:

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment like tractors, seeders, sprayers, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
  
• Lubricate moving parts, replace worn-out components, and ensure optimal machine performance.
  

3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in agricultural machines.
  
• Repair or replace defective parts efficiently to minimize downtime.
  
• Handle complex repairs on engines, transmissions, electronic control units, etc.
  

4. Customer Training & Support:

• Educate farmers and operators on correct usage, safety, and routine maintenance of machinery.
  
• Provide on-site technical support and advice to improve machine performance and lifespan.
  

5. Documentation:

• Keep detailed records of service, repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  
• Prepare service reports and communicate machine status to clients and management.
  

6. Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents during equipment handling.
  
• Ensure compliance with agricultural machinery regulations and environmental guidelines.
  

7. Spare Parts Management:

• Identify and order necessary spare parts in a timely manner.
  
• Manage inventory to avoid delays in repair and maintenance services.
  

8. Continuous Learning:

• Stay updated on the latest agricultural technologies and machinery advancements.
  
• Attend training sessions, workshops, and manufacturer certifications to enhance technical skills.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in agricultural machinery.
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
  
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction.
  
• Ability to work in field conditions and sometimes remote locations.
