Your Impact
As a Sr. UX Designer, you would be part of a larger experienced design team at OpenText and report to the UX Manager. A typical day at work would see you interacting with Product Management, Product Development, UX Research, and senior UX leadership. This role requires self-motivation and ability to work independently and with team members and product groups.
What the role offers
- Partner across teams to gain a deep understanding of product domains and user needs
- Collaborate with Product Management to define requirements, shape product backlogs, and outline the vision for user experience
- Design intuitive, user-friendly solutions for complex, multi-platform product suites
- Conduct usability tests and other forms of UX validation with internal and external partners
- Build detailed, interactive prototypes for presentations and usability testing
- Leverage product thinking to drive innovation and contribute to business growth
- Apply AI-informed design thinking where relevant, using AI tools to simplify workflows, accelerate ideation, and improve user decision-making
- Promote a design thinking approach, be a UX advocate, and foster a dynamic design culture
- Mentor and guide junior designers, offering both interaction and visual design feedback to help them grow
- Ensure design precision and consistency by maintaining clear workflows, cohesive layouts, and alignment with design systems
- Craft visually engaging and brand-aligned interfaces, ensuring hierarchy, spacing, typography, and color usage support clarity and usability
- Contribute to the evolution of design systems and interaction/visual guidelines across platforms
What you need to succeed
- Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5+ years of experience designing interactions for large-scale products or services
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain design rationale clearly
- Skilled in creating UX deliverables such as journey maps, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications
- Experience developing user personas and usage scenarios
- Proficient in design tools such as Figma and FigJam
- Ability to produce high-quality visual design elements (components, icons, illustrations) while adhering to brand and system guidelines
- Strong organizational skills to balance multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines
- Experience collaborating with global, cross-functional teams in complex organizational structures
- Skilled in facilitating workshops to generate ideas, drive alignment, and achieve consensus
- Proven ability in feature prioritization and contributing to roadmap development
- Background in conducting usability tests and interpreting results
- Knowledge of heuristic evaluations and accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)
- Familiarity with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) products is a plus
- Significant contributions to design systems, including both interaction and visual aspects
- Awareness of how AI can simplify enterprise workflows and elevate user experiences
