Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in managing and securing both Windows Server (2016 and above) and Linux environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of IT infrastructure through automation , virtualization , and compliance-focused operations . This role involves administering VMware or Nutanix-based virtual infrastructure , streamlining tasks with scripting tools, and supporting both hardware and software across mixed OS platforms. The engineer will also lead and support activities including system upgrades , patch management , backup and disaster recovery , and performance monitoring , while aligning with organizational requirements and IT best practices . Familiarity with web application support, vulnerability remediation, and IT service management is essential. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration with hands-on expertise in both Windows Server (2016 and above) and Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) environments. At least 5 years of experience managing virtual infrastructure using platforms such as VMware or Nutanix . Strong proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline IT operations across multiple platforms. Proven experience in supporting and troubleshooting web applications in a mixed OS environment. Preferred experience in Higher Education IT environments . Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills to manage complex tasks efficiently. Demonstrated capability to maintain accurate technical documentation and infrastructure records. Extensive knowledge of enterprise hardware, system architecture, and networking protocols. Familiarity with IT operations best practices (ITIL, change management, service management). Possession of relevant IT certifications, such as: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent (preferred) ITIL Foundation Certification Show more Show less
