The Cloud Governance and Operations team is a cross-functional group responsible for ensuring the secure, efficient, and reliable use of cloud infrastructure across the organization. The team drives both strategic governance and hands-on operational excellence, enabling scalable, compliant, and cost-effective cloud adoption. This includes all cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), Microsoft Entra ID, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud storage.

At Berkadia, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we're seeking an experienced cloud engineer with expertise in driving both governance and operational excellence across complex cloud environments. As part of the Cloud Governance and Operations team, you'll help define and enforce cloud usage policies and cost optimization strategies to ensure secure and efficient cloud adoption. On the operations side, you'll be responsible for maintaining infrastructure reliability through proactive monitoring and incident response, and for building automation and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform to streamline deployment and infrastructure management.

• Define and enforce cloud governance policies to ensure secure, compliant, and standardized cloud usage across the organization.
• Implement and manage cost optimization strategies, including budgeting, tagging, and usage monitoring.
• Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to automate cloud resource provisioning and configuration.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable application and infrastructure deployments.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure health and performance, and respond to incidents to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to align cloud operations with regulatory and internal standards.
• Manage shared cloud services, such as networking, identity, secrets management, and container orchestration platforms.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operations and improve operational efficiency.
• Support cloud onboarding and enablement for application teams, providing guidance on best practices and operational readiness.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system resilience and team processes.
• Provide 3rd level operational support for end users as necessary.

• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform, for managing scalable and repeatable cloud infrastructure as well as CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks, specifically Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure), including core services like networking, IAM, compute, and storage as well as containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and best practices related to cost management, security, and compliance (e.g., FinOps, CIS Benchmarks, NIST).
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and tooling.

•             Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•             5+ years of experience in a similar position
