Role Overview: You will be joining the Storage Network Protocols team as a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Linux/CentOS environments. Your role will involve designing core technologies focusing on high availability and non-disruptive upgrade mechanisms in distributed systems. You are passionate about building scalable storage solutions and will contribute directly to critical system components to shape the platform's evolution as it scales. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in requirements analysis, design, design reviews, and other tasks related to expanding the platform and operating system. - Develop and maintain software and services for the NAS appliance, ensuring high availability and upgrade solutions. - Debug and resolve bugs reported by customers, support, QA, and development teams. - Collaborate with customer support to address any escalations. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of experience in delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud services. - Proficiency in C and C++ coding. - Strong understanding of Linux clustering technologies like pacemaker and coro-sync. - Deep knowledge of object-oriented design, SDK development, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and Linux operating systems. - Experience with hypervisor platforms such as ESX, Hyper-V, OpenStack, and KVM. - Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable technical specifications. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly. - Prior experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams. - Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. - Familiarity with cloud-native platforms, API creation, PostgreSQL, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and high-level programming languages like Golang, Java, or Perl.
