Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work with technical and business leaders during Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations
• Participate in requirements review and assess the technical effort needed for configuration
• Ensure technical design aligns with user stories and follows development best practices
• Leverage Guidewire accelerators for development activities and reuse architectural patterns
• Deliver standards-based code that is G-unit tested and code-reviewed according to specifications
• Develop integration solutions including Batch processes, Message Queues, and Event Messaging
• Create integration solutions with internal and external consumers
• Utilize Guidewire EDGE APIs to build reusable domain-based API solutions
• Establish and execute unit and integration tests, focusing on automation where applicable
• Conduct code reviews and ensure comprehensive testing during continuous integration and deployment
• Facilitate code gate-checking prior to promoting to higher environments
• Support all life-cycle phases during and post-implementation, including production support and maintenance
  

Requirements

• Experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter integration development for a minimum of 4 years
• Background in developing web-based Java/J2EE or .NET applications for at least 5 years
• Experience leading offshore teams
• Strong experience with Guidewire Edge APIs and exposing Guidewire functionality to external consumers
• Advanced knowledge of XML, JSON, and SQL
• Strong experience with designing and developing Rest APIs or Web Services
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Commercial P&C insurance
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tools like TFS, Rally, or JIRA
• Familiarity with source control tools such as GIT
• Understanding of Guidewire integration concepts, including Batch Processing and Event Processing
