Job Description

Position Overview:

Trainer Construction Safety

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training & Competency Development

  • Develop, plan, and deliver classroom and practical training programs for:
    • Rigging & Lifting Operations
    • Scaffolding Erection, Inspection, and Dismantling
    • Work at Height (Fall Protection, Rescue Techniques)
    • General Construction Safety & Hazard Management
  • Conduct toolbox talks, refresher programs, and awareness sessions for various workforce levels (workers, supervisors, engineers, and HSE officers).
  • Prepare training modules, presentations, and assessment materials in line with

    ISO 45001

    ,

    BS/EN

    local statutory regulations

2. Safety Audits & Inspections

  • Conduct comprehensive

    construction site safety audits

    and

    compliance inspections

    .
  • Evaluate scaffolding, rigging, and lifting operations for conformity to standards and safe practices.
  • Identify non-conformities and prepare corrective action reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support clients in implementing safety management systems and safe work procedures.

3. Program & Material Development

  • Design and update training content to incorporate latest codes of practice, standards, and case studies.
  • Develop practical exercises and site-based scenarios for competency assessments.
  • Contribute to internal and client-specific training documentation, manuals, and audit templates.

4. Client Interface & Reporting

  • Liaise with client representatives, site management, and HSE personnel to assess training needs.
  • Deliver tailored programs based on project scope and risk profile.
  • Prepare and submit training and audit reports, competency records, and performance metrics.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure training programs align with organizational accreditation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain records of trainee evaluations, certifications, and feedback.
  • Support internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 15 years

      of overall experience in construction / heavy industry, with at least

      5 years in safety training or HSE consultancy

      .
    • Strong background in construction site operations, rigging, scaffolding, lifting, and height work.
    • Proven experience in conducting safety audits and technical assessments for construction projects.
  • Technical Competencies:

    • In-depth knowledge of

      construction safety standards and practices (OSHA, ASME, ISO 45001, BS 5975, BS EN 12811, etc.)

    • Skilled in risk assessment, job safety analysis (JSA), and hazard identification.
    • Proficient in MS Office, report writing, and presentation tools.
    • Certification as a

      Competent Person / Approved Trainer / Assessor

      in any of the above domains (preferred).
