Job Description

  • Engage and align with robotics program team members to plan and deliver goals aligned with overall robotics adoption vision and program objectives.
  • Understand priorities and business value to drive standardization, integration of technology within current workflows, and digitization to enable end-user acceptance.
  • Capture feedback, best practices, and share them with the community to drive consistency.
  • Engage stakeholders and practitioners across multiple business units to understand barriers and challenges to robotics adoption.
  • Track progress and share reports with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with regional robotics companies and service providers to drive Chevron priorities.
  • Identify and develop testing, lab, research, and development capabilities aligned with overall robotics program objectives and goals.
  • Mentor robotics engineer team members on end-users' activities and requirements, such as inspection codes, standards, daily maintenance, and operations.
  • Develop organizational capability across Chevron locations (BU, facilities) to enable technology adoption and lifecycle management.
  • Identify required skills and competencies, leading training and development of the workforce.
  • Lead regional Joint Industry Projects (JIPs), sharing needs and requirements to drive technology development.
  • Create an environment for a disciplined approach to removing barriers and challenges to robotics technology adoption.
Job Requirements
  • An engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics (B.E./B.Tech.) from a recognized (AICTE) university is required.
  • Experience with robotic technology development and implementation in processing facilities is essential.
  • Proven experience in leading testing and qualification efforts for new technologies is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop testing protocols and execute demonstrations is expected.
  • Advanced degrees in robotics or mechatronics are preferred.
  • API certifications for Tanks and/or Pressure vessels (510, 570, 653) are advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years of Refinery or Complex upstream Facility Maintenance/Operations experience equivalent; at least 3 years of experience leading and influencing program-level strategic planning and managing small teams.
  • Industry Certification in NDT Level III in one or more NDE methods is beneficial.
  • Managing cost, schedule, and execution on Capital projects is desirable.
  • Working hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday workweek.
