Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Senior Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Process Quality Control:
Oversee and manage the quality standards of incoming coil material and outgoing metal blanks produced by the blanking press line.
Defect Analysis:
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions (PCA) for defects such as burrs, material distortion, dimensional errors, and surface imperfections on the blanks.
Measurement & Inspection:
Implement and maintain a robust system for dimensional inspection using precision tools (e.g., CMM, Vernier, Micrometers) and master samples. Ensure all blanks conform to drawing specifications (GD&T).
Tooling & Die Management:
Work closely with the Die Maintenance and Production teams to monitor the performance of blanking dies. Ensure dies are maintained to prevent quality issues related to tool wear or chipping.
Documentation:
Prepare and maintain all required quality documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, PFMEA, SOPs, and Inspection Reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing to reduce scrap, improve First Pass Yield (FPY), and optimize blanking parameters.
