Core Leadership Responsibilities
Project Planning Strategy
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
  • Establish project governance frameworks and reporting structures
Team Management
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors
  • Manage project staffing and resource allocation
  • Mentor junior project managers and staff
Financial Contract Management
Budget Cost Control
  • Develop and manage project budgets (often $10M+ for senior roles)
  • Monitor costs and implement cost control measures
  • Approve change orders and variation requests
  • Conduct financial reporting and forecasting
Contract Administration
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Handle dispute resolution and claims management
  • Oversee procurement processes
Technical Operational Oversight
Quality Safety Management
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits
  • Manage environmental and sustainability requirements
Construction Management
  • Oversee construction activities and progress
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities for permits and approvals
  • Manage project schedules and critical path activities
  • Resolve technical issues and design conflicts
Stakeholder Management
Client Relations
  • Serve as primary client contact and relationship manager
  • Present project updates to executive leadership
  • Manage client expectations and requirements
  • Handle escalated issues and concerns
Communication Reporting
  • Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders
  • Facilitate project meetings and decision-making processes
  • Maintain project documentation and records
  • Communicate risks and mitigation strategies
Key Skills Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 8-15+ years in construction project management
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
  • PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification preferred
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects
Technical Competencies
  • Proficiency in project management software (Primavera, MS Project)
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technologies
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Financial analysis and budget management skills
