Job Overview

Sr. Procurement Engineer

This role requires strong analytical skills, understanding of construction project specifications, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end

  procurement of materials and subcontractor packages

  for ongoing construction projects.
• Conduct

  prequalification

  of vendors and subcontractors based on capability, experience, and financial strength.
• Develop and maintain the

  Procurement Schedule

  and ensure timely procurement deliverables.
• Review

  drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications

  to understand project requirements before floating inquiries.
• Prepare and release

  RFQs

  (Request for Quotation) to shortlisted vendors.

• Analyze and compare bids

  through Bid Comparison Sheets / BRS and evaluate scope coverage, pricing structure, exclusions, and deviations.
• Conduct

  bid leveling

  to ensure fair comparison and cost accuracy.
• Negotiate

  prices, contractual terms, commercial conditions, delivery schedules

  , and finalize agreements.
• Coordinate with

  Contracts, Planning, Estimation, and Project Management

  teams to align procurement processes with project requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor communication logs, and documentation.
  
• Ensure compliance with

  procurement policies, quality standards, and project targets

  .
• Use software tools like

  SAP (MM Module)

  and MS Excel for procurement tracking and reporting.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  construction procurement workflows

  .
• Experience in

  vendor development, subcontractor sourcing, cost negotiation, and contract finalization

  .
• Ability to interpret

  BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications

  .
• Proficiency in

  MS Excel

  ; familiarity with

  SAP / ERP procurement modules

  preferred.
• Strong

  communication, analytical, and documentation

  skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
