The Senior Principal Structural Engineer is responsible for solving unique and complex problems with a significant impact on the business. You must proactively identify and address the most challenging issues that affect the management and direction of the business. Considered a specialist in the field of Structural Engineering, you possess a broad base of knowledge about the Engineering function. Your role influences the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects within your discipline, adhering to general functional policies and industry guidelines. Conceptual and innovative thinking is crucial in developing creative solutions to Structural Engineering challenges. Key Tasks and Responsibilities include performing conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and designs according to project specifications and standards. You will utilize your in-depth skills to address complex problems and nonstandard situations effectively. Clear and accurate design calculations, reports, and procedures are essential aspects of your responsibilities. As a Lead Engineer, you will direct medium or large engineering teams, lead discipline engineering design, and ensure high professional standards are met. Additionally, you will manage your time effectively to meet objectives, plan resource requirements, and communicate difficult concepts persuasively. Collaborating with various stakeholders, including customers, agencies, and other disciplines, is integral to your role. Mentoring other employees, assisting in project monitoring, and providing engineering support as required are also part of your responsibilities. As an Engineering Specialist, you will coordinate and check the work of senior and junior engineers, conduct peer reviews, and provide technical assistance where necessary. Specializing in various fields and design codes, you will ensure designs meet operational requirements, constructability, and maintainability. As a Lead Engineer on medium to large EPC projects, you will be responsible for all engineering and design work, manage resources effectively, and work closely with project management. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, Project Engineering Manager, or Project Manager, you will liaise with various stakeholders across different departments. Your essential qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, 20+ years of experience in oil and gas, and proficiency in engineering standards and specifications. Being a Registered Professional Engineer or a member of a professional engineering society is preferred. Strong organizational, supervisory, and technical skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work independently and improve work effectiveness continuously.
