Oracle Customer Success Services is a One Oracle approach to ensuring customer success, through a broad set of services and solutions that are supported by certified and experienced implementers, helping to accelerate the entire customer journey. Customer Success Services provides a customer-centric delivery and support-integrated service, in conjunction with Oracle Development. As a sophisticated database support engineer of customer success service organization, you will be responsible to deliver support and services on database, engineered systems and cloud technologies to our premium customers. The support and services covers the entire life cycle of the product starting from architecture design, implementation, optimization, maintenance etc. The role involves working with the customers and ensure they get the best out of our products. Career Level - IC3 Key Responsibilities: Provide 24x7 operational support for Oracle databases across production and non-production environments. Monitor and respond to alerts, incidents, and support tickets in a timely and efficient manner. Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, availability, and stability issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions for recurring issues. Support high-availability configurations (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, etc.). Analyze and tune SQL, PL/SQL, and overall database performance. Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and alerting across the Oracle database fleet. Perform AWR/ASH analysis to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations. Optimize indexing, partitioning, and storage configurations. Conduct database patching, upgrades, and regular maintenance with minimal downtime. Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN. Execute and automate RMAN-based backup and restore operations, including point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery testing. Ensure database systems are resilient and meet business continuity requirements. Maintain up-to-date SOP s and technical documentation for database operations. Manage user access, roles, and privileges according to best practices. Implement security measures including encryption, auditing, and data masking. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory standards. Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation. Act as the senior escalation point for customer-impacting issues. Work closely with support, engineering, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues. Communicate effectively with stakeholders during incidents and maintenance windows. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs. Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR, ASH, and other monitoring tools. Create and maintain scripts for automation of routine DBA tasks. Develop monitoring dashboards and proactive alerting mechanisms. Continuously improve system observability and operational efficiency. Support and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) switchover and switchback operations using Oracle Data Guard, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity during planned or emergency events.
