Your mission

Own the electron-optical column end-to-end. From source, condenser/objective lenses, alignment to detector coupling. Deliver high-resolution, stable imaging with clean contrast across use-cases. Design for reliability today and an upgrade-friendly future.

What you’ll do

• Architect and align the column for high-resolution, low-drift performance. Establish practical tuning workflows for production and service.
• Translate optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
• Co-design with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls.
• Build and maintain the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.

Who you are

• Deep experience in electron optics. Hands-on with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
• Comfortable moving between modeling (your solver of choice), bench work, and factory documentation.
• Clear communicator who can turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.

How we’ll know it’s working

• Consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning.
• Repeatable calibration across builds and over time.
• Fast diagnosis and recovery when alignment drifts.
