Lead Mechanical & Systems Integration Engineer

We are building India's first commercial Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) from the ground up. This is not an integration project. We will design our own electron optics, high-voltage systems, precision mechanics, and real-time control software. Your Mission

• Design a FEG-ready UHV envelope (250 mm Ø × 300 mm height, 150 °C bake) capable of achieving a base pressure of 5 × 10⁻⁹ mbar to support future cold-field or Schottky upgrades.
• Deliver a 5-axis stage: 50 mm × 50 mm × 25 mm travel; ±10 nm bidirectional repeatability (1σ) with capacitive feedback; ±100 nm absolute accuracy after error mapping
• Achieve ≤1 nm RMS vibration (10 Hz–1 kHz) via passive isolation + tuned mass dampers; ≤0.01 °C thermal stability over 24 hr.
• Own the assembly, integration & test (AIT) playbook for the first three prototypes.

Who You Are

• 8+ yrs precision mechanical design; UHV or semiconductor capital equipment strongly preferred.
• Fluent in SolidWorks / NX and FEA for structural, thermal, and modal analysis.
• Hands-on with interferometers, piezo actuators, and clean-room assembly.
