Senior Merchandiser

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and well-organized Merchandiser Exports to manage the complete export merchandising cycle from product development to dispatch. The ideal candidate should have experience handling buyers, vendors, sampling timelines, costing, and export documentation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1.? ?Buyer Communication & Order Management

Communicate with international buyers regarding product queries, styles, fabrics, and timelines.

Understand buyer requirements, packaging details, quality standards, and approvals.

Share product presentations, quotations, and costing sheets.

2. Sampling & Product Development

Coordinate sampling with design, production, and vendors.

Ensure samples meet buyer specifications (fabric, trims, measurements, finishing).

Track sample approvals, comments, and revisions.

3. Costing & Negotiation

Prepare cost sheets covering materials, trims, labor, and margin.

Negotiate pricing with vendors and maintain profitable costing structures.

4. Production Follow-ups

Monitor production status from raw material purchase to finishing.

Ensure timely approvals of fits, size sets, PP samples, and production markers.

Flag delays and coordinate with teams to ensure OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery.

5. Quality & Compliance

Coordinate with QC teams for pre-production and in-line inspections.

Ensure buyer's quality and compliance standards are met.

Address quality issues and support corrective actions.

6. Documentation & Logistics

Coordinate with logistics for shipment booking, packing lists, and dispatch.

Ensure all export documentation is complete (invoice, packing list, shipping documents).

Maintain accurate records of buyers, orders, and shipment timelines.

7. Vendor, Fabric & Trim Coordination

Source fabrics, trims, accessories as per buyer requirements.

Follow up with vendors for timely delivery and approvals.

Maintain vendor database and pricing history.

Skills & Competencies Required

Strong knowledge of garment production & export merchandising.

Good communication skills (written & spoken English).

Understanding of fabrics, trims, measurements, and fashion terminology.

Proficiency in Excel, Sheets, and order-tracking tools.

Ability to multitask and manage multiple buyers/orders simultaneously.

Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.

Experience Required

25 years of experience as an Export Merchandiser in apparel.

Experience with woven & knit garments (preferred).

Experience dealing with international buyers is a must.
