Role & responsibilities:

• Review, draft, and vet various legal documents including loan agreements, lender agreements, vendor contracts, lease deeds, and MoUs related to housing and real estate finance.
• Handle litigation matters for and against the company before various courts, tribunals, and forums including DRTs, District Courts, High Courts, Consumer Forums, and Lok Adalats.
• Manage SARFAESI proceedings, including issuance of demand notices, possession notices, and coordination with enforcement agencies for recovery of secured assets.
• Issue and respond to legal notices to defaulting borrowers, vendors, or employees, and oversee subsequent legal actions.
• Provide legal advice on matters related to property title verification, mortgage creation, recovery, tenancy issues, and regulatory compliance under housing finance laws.
• Coordinate with external advocates and law firms for case management, documentation, and timely updates on ongoing litigation.
• Conduct legal due diligence for property documents, project approvals, and other real estate-related transactions.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, including RERA, SARFAESI, Transfer of Property Act, Contract Act, Civil Procedure Code, and other applicable laws, and ensure company compliance.
• Maintain and organize legal documentation, including agreements, case files, and court records in an efficient and secure manner.

Other requirements:

• LLB degree with a valid license to practice law.
• Working experience in housing finance company
• Understanding of SARFAESI act and its proceeding is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of contract law, civil law, and other relevant laws. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
