Job Description

As a Senior Manager in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) at Amherst, you will play a crucial role in the corporate FP&A team by leading various financial planning and analysis efforts. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the annual budget and forecasting process for all assigned functional areas, providing relevant analysis and documentation of major variances. - Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial packages and conducting variance analysis against budget and prior periods. - Identifying and recommending enhancements related to content, process, and controls. - Providing financial and strategic support to senior management and owners through the preparation of board presentations, financial presentations, and other projects. - Meeting with division leads to discuss monthly variances to budget and any organizational changes impacting financials. - Collaborating with Accounting and HR to report monthly expenses and headcount across the firm's divisions and markets. - Undertaking other duties as assigned to ensure the team functions effectively. Your qualifications and desired skills should include: - A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (a Master's or MBA is preferred). - A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred. - 12-20 years of finance experience with a focus on financial planning and analysis. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Proven leadership abilities and experience in team management with a focus on delivering accurate and timely analysis and budgets. - Demonstrated experience in building and modifying budget models to accommodate new business lines, funding strategies, and growth expectations. - Robust interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, attention to detail, and a self-starting attitude. - Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize assignments, handle interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. - Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI is a plus). - Experience with structured ERP systems like Adaptive, Anaplan, etc., is advantageous. - Previous experience working in the Real Estate domain, particularly in the US markets, is preferred.
