Senior Manager - Commercial Finance

Role Overview

As Senior Manager Commercial Finance, you will be responsible for managing vendor payments, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, strengthening internal controls, and overseeing critical areas of the company’s distribution finance operations.

The role will act as a co-owner of the P&L with the Business Head for Distribution, driving financial visibility and governance across inventory, trade finance, AR, claims, and audit closures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Operations

• Oversee vendor payment processes including invoice receipt, verification, recording, and follow-up.
• Ensure timely settlement of vendor and trade partner dues.
• Monitor and resolve disputes or delays in bill processing.

Institution & Distribution Business Finance

• P&L Co-ownership with Business Head – drive performance, profitability, and expense control.
• Lead inventory management including tracking, valuation, returns, provisioning and control.
• Management & optimisation of trade marketing expenses and ensure accuracy and ensuring Top Line growth.
• Ensure claims are correctly recorded, validated, and settled within agreed timelines.
• Drive Accounts Receivable (AR) management, ensuring timely collections and healthy receivables aging.
• Own and drive inventory control initiatives across systems, physical stock, and process alignment.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and month end closing.
• Handle internal and external audit closures for all distribution finance-related activities.
• Presentation decks for various management Reviews

Controls & Compliance

• Establish and enforce internal control systems in line with statutory regulations and company policy.
• Ensure compliance with financial norms, including the Companies Act and audit regulations.
• Conduct checks and internal audits on financial processes related to both operations and distribution finance.
• Escalate financial risks to the Audit Committee or leadership team where appropriate.

Budgeting & Reporting

• Manage budgets and track against performance KPIs.
• Provide timely and accurate financial reports for senior leadership review.
• Support business

  teams with real-time visibility into cost and profitability metrics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

Experience

• 8–16 years of relevant experience in finance operations, vendor management, compliance, and reporting.

Technical Skills

• Strong command of financial compliance and internal controls.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyse and synthesize financial data.
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
