Senior Manager CCM

Position Name:

Role Objective:

Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation systems

Role Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Reliability

• Ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical and automation systems in CCM 1 & 2.
  
• Oversee motors, transformers, VFDs, switchgear, and power distribution systems for caster operations.
  
• Monitor PLC/DCS/SCADA for sequence control of tundish car, mold oscillation, withdrawal, straightening, torch cutting, and runout area.
  
• Ensure smooth functioning of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level, flow, load cells, and encoders.
  

1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for CCM electrical & instrumentation assets.
  
• Troubleshoot failures in mold oscillators, hydraulic systems, servo valves, encoders, and automation loops.
  
• Minimize downtime by root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  

1. Automation & Process Control

• Maintain automation systems for mold oscillation, strand withdrawal, secondary cooling, and cut-to-length systems.
  
• Collaborate with OEMs/vendors for PLC/DCS modifications, HMI improvements, and process optimization.
  
• Ensure synchronization of casting sequences with upstream SMS operations.
  

1. Project Execution & Modernization

• Lead installation, commissioning, and revamping of CCM drives, PLCs, and instrumentation systems.
  
• Implement Industry 4.0 / IIoT initiatives for process monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  
• Support projects for energy efficiency, digitalization, and modernization of CCM systems.
  

1. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce strict compliance with OH&S, electrical safety, and LOTO practices.
  
• Ensure adherence to ISO (9001, 14001, 45001, 50001) standards.
  
• Conduct safety training and awareness sessions for the E&I team and contractors.
  

1. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain calibration, maintenance, and breakdown records in SAP/CMMS.
  
• Prepare downtime analysis, energy usage reports, and equipment performance dashboards.
  
• Support statutory and internal audits related to E&I systems.
  

1. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, and technicians for CCM E&I operations.
  
• Coordinate with casting, mechanical, refractory, and utility teams for uninterrupted production.
  
• Build technical capability through training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in

  Continuous Casting Machine E&I systems

  .
• Hands-on knowledge of

  Siemens / ABB / Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADA, and automation systems

  .
• In-depth experience with

  mold oscillation drives, withdrawal & straightening motors, hydraulic systems, and torch cutting automation

  .
• Proficiency in handling HT/LT motors, encoders, load cells, flow/temperature instrumentation, and digital drives.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making ability.
  
• Leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering.

• 10-12 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation in SMS
  
• Hands-on commissioning and modernization experience in continuous casting machines.
  
• Familiarity with SAP/CMMS, ISO standards, and energy management systems preferred.
