Senior Manager - Battery Design

In this role as a Senior Design Engineering Manager at our innovative startup in Noida specializing in lithium battery manufacturing, your primary responsibility will be to lead a design team of 10-15 engineers to develop cutting-edge lithium-ion battery packs for a variety of applications. Your role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to ensure innovation, reliability, and compliance across our product line. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and mentor a design team of 10-15 engineers, focusing on high performance, knowledge growth, and goal alignment. - Oversee the end-to-end design and development of lithium-ion battery packs for various applications including electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and solar applications. - Guide the architecture, mechanical structure, enclosure design, and thermal management of battery packs. - Ensure designs meet performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance standards. - Review and approve engineering drawings, CAD models, and tolerance stacks. - Implement best practices in DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and validation processes. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration and lead design reviews. - Stay updated on the latest battery technologies and bring innovative concepts to product design and improvement. - Maintain and review BOMs, material selection, prototyping timelines, and product documentation. **Key Requirements:** - Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering. - 6 to 12 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in lithium battery, EV, or energy storage domains. - Track record of successfully managing engineering teams with product launches. - Expertise in CAD tools and mechanical design of battery components. - In-depth knowledge of various components and manufacturing processes. - Familiarity with relevant standards and product compliance processes. - Exposure to BMS systems, cell chemistry, and safety standards is advantageous. - Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
