Job Description

Role Overview: The incumbent will be responsible for driving business development for contract manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) in the domestic pharmaceutical market. The role includes identifying new clients, managing existing partnerships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring smooth execution of commercial agreements while achieving business growth and profitability targets. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Client Acquisition: Identify and onboard new domestic clients for contract manufacturing opportunities. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities. Prepare and present business proposals and product offerings to potential clients. Relationship Management: Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships. Act as a point of contact for client coordination and issue resolution. Commercial Negotiations: Lead commercial discussions, pricing negotiations, and finalization of agreements. Ensure commercial viability and profitability of all contracts and engagements. Project Coordination & Execution: Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (production, QA, RA, SCM, finance) to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor delivery schedules, compliance requirements, and customer satisfaction. Revenue & P&L Management: Meet assigned revenue and margin targets for the contract manufacturing vertical. Regularly review P&L statements and take corrective actions where necessary. Regulatory & Compliance Coordination: Ensure all business activities adhere to applicable regulatory guidelines and customer expectations. Coordinate documentation and support required for regulatory audits by clients. MIS & Reporting: Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance reports. Present monthly and quarterly business updates to the senior management team. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Science or related field; MBA (Marketing/Pharma Management) preferred. 10–15 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development, preferably in contract manufacturing (domestic market). Strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulations, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
