Description
As a part of the dynamic team covering the whole of South Asia, you will play a leading role in the journalism and production process at BBC News. Your responsibilities include developing story and program ideas, providing top-quality picture-gathering and editing, and creating content for a variety of BBC News outlets. You will need to illustrate complex issues clearly and creatively while having a good understanding of the region's politics, culture, religion, and economy. - Find creative approaches to help the audience better understand the region, working on deadline and covering breaking news effectively. - Ensure high-quality, accurate, fair, and engaging journalism for bulletins, programs, and digital platforms, in line with BBC Editorial Guidelines. - Understand World News Content's digital newsgathering strategy, identify what works across different platforms, and contribute to building and serving new audiences. - Collaborate with various BBC departments to maintain technical equipment and bureau facilities, including the bureau video library. - Strong technical and creative production skills, capable of operating broadcast equipment and producing high-quality content under tight deadlines. - Proven journalistic expertise in international news, with a clear understanding of BBC News editorial standards and policies. - Adaptability, resilience, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage changing priorities, and lead or support small teams. - Technological curiosity, safety awareness, and willingness to learn new tools, with a thorough understanding of Health & Safety guidelines. - Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships, collaborating effectively in a team, and deploying to hostile environments at short notice.,
