To meet the increasing demand of our expertise in the nuclear industry, we have now multiple opportunities for Senior Engineers with experience ranging from 8 20 years in design and engineering of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to join the nuclear team at our AtkinsRalis India offices
You will be working across our business, for different global regions in supporting design of HVAC systems for both nuclear power plants and conventional facilities As we support our clients you be expected to travel and work from client sites across the geographies we work in as the role, project or secondment requires There has never been a more exciting time to join the industry as we engineer a cleaner, zero-carbon future for our planet Your role The work is varied and include some or all of the responsibilities mentioned below: Designing HVAC systems, including calculating heating and cooling needs, selecting appropriate equipment, and detailing system/equipment specifications Preparation of piping and duct layout/general arrangement for new installations and for replacement and upgrade of systems and components Preparation of conceptual and detail design packages, including optioneering, design development, and concept evaluation Design and implementation of engineering changes/system upgrades in brown field projects Production of manufacturing packages, equipment selection (including material selection), coordination with manufacturer/contractor, review of vendor drawings/documents Production of deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, detailed equipment specifications, component/material specifications Preparation of plant maintenance schedules, access and maintenance strategies, technical risk assessments, and commissioning strategies Development of project technical proposals, scopes, schedules and budget estimates Walk-downs to assess system configuration, evaluation of system/component degradation and material condition Witness the pre-commissioning/commissioning activities by the contractor/vendor and produce/review all relevant documentation Strategy development for in-service inspection and testing Review of 2D and 3D CAD drawings/models and bill of materials Plant refurbishment, operational improvement and life extension studies Performance analysis of operating HVAC systems and design improvements About You Candi should possess some or all of the following qualifications, skills and experience Graduate or post-graduate in mechanical or other relevant engineering Experience in Nuclear, Power, Oil & Gas or other highly regulated industrial environment preferred Experience in HVAC systems for nuclear facilities for different radiation and contamination levels Experience in design, selection and specification of HVAC mechanical equipment Experience in duct/piping layout and duct/piping design Working experience in HVAC software such as IES/HAP Experience in handling brownfield packages, in particular power plant systems and utilities Demonstrable knowledge of design projects, or relevant knowledge of process plant operations is desirable Ability to carry out detailed design, analysis and review others work Ability to understand and define client's requirements, plan and schedule deliverables, timelines Knowledge of fabrication drawings and processes Familiar with international design codes and standards for design of HVAC systems Strong delivery culture, maintaining strict timelines is must Proven computer aptitude, and expertise in MS office Experience of providing strong technical advice and guidance on mechanical engineering design to the client Exposure to field installation, commissioning and testing of design changes Experience in supporting construction and commissioning phases Ability to work independently or as part of team, flexible attitude to the type of work and the level of responsibility accepted Experience in production of drawings for equipment layout Have excellent communication skills and motivated by working within a dynamic and diverse project delivery environment Be willing to travel internationally and willing to work flexibly with occasional out of hours work to accommo project and client requirements Benefits
