Senior Fabric Merchandiser

As a Senior Fabric Merchandiser at our Fast fashion D2C brand, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and quality control processes for fabric used in garment production. Your role will involve working closely with internal teams to ensure that the business needs are met effectively. Your key responsibilities will include sourcing and ordering various types of poly knitted and woven fabrics, managing relationships with fabric vendors in markets like Surat and Tirupur, negotiating pricing and credit terms, and overseeing timely fabric deliveries. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting fabric quality checks, maintaining fabric inventory records, researching cost-effective sourcing strategies, and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements. To excel in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in fabric buying for export houses, strong connections with fabric vendors in key markets, in-depth knowledge of fabric types and manufacturing processes, as well as excellent negotiation and communication skills. Previous experience in a dynamic work environment, either in an export house or with a domestic brand, would be advantageous.
