Senior Fabric Merchandiser

As a Senior Fabric Merchandiser at our Fast fashion D2C brand, your role will involve managing the sourcing and quality control checks for fabric. Your responsibilities will include: - Fabric Procurement & Order Management: - Source and place orders for all types of poly knitted (80%) and woven fabrics (20%). - Check our website www.oyela.in for more information on fabrics and styles. - Vendor Management & Negotiation: - Find and coordinate with suppliers in Tirupur and Surat. - Negotiate pricing and credit period to ensure timely fabric deliveries. - Fabric Quality Control: - Conduct in-house fabric quality, shrinkage, and color bleeding checks to maintain quality standards. - Inventory & Tracking: - Maintain records of fabric quantities in-house, dispatched, and in transit. - Track Fabric Avg for different designs. - R&D for Cost & Quality Optimization: - Research and implement cost-effective sourcing strategies. - Improve fabric quality and find alternate fabrics to reduce supply chain risk. - Compliance & Documentation: - Ensure proper documentation of orders, quality checks, and vendor agreements. Qualifications & Experience: - 5+ years of experience in fabric buying for export houses. - Strong contacts with fabric vendors in Surat, Tirupur markets for timely deliveries, credit period, and quality. - Solid knowledge of fabric types, construction, finishes, and manufacturing processes. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Preferably experienced in export houses or domestic brands with decision-making skills in dynamic scenarios.,
