Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and supporting the finance department with reconciliation, budgeting, and internal controls. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, GST, TDS, and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain and update general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Process journal entries, bank entries, and month-end closing.
  • Prepare and post invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses in accounting software (e.g., Tally).
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.

2. Reconciliations

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
  • Budget variance on monthly basis
  • MIS reporting
  • Cash flow statement

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Calculate and file TDS, GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and Quarterly TDS Return
  • Ensure timely payment and filing of statutory compliances.
  • Coordinate with auditors for statutory, internal, and tax audits.

4. Financial Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Generate MIS reports for management.

5. Vendor and Expense Management

  • Scrutinize bills and expense claims as per company policy.
  • Ensure timely vendor payments and resolve disputes.
  • Track and manage advances and employee reimbursements.

6. Audit & Internal Controls

  • Support internal and statutory audits with required documents.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
  • Implement and adhere to internal financial controls and SOPs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter or equivalent.
  • 5 - 6 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.
  • Sound knowledge of Tally Prime accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of Indian taxation laws (TDS, GST, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in handling NGO/Trust or government-funded projects/ CA Firm.
  • Knowledge of foreign payments, 15CA/CB, FCRA regulations (optional).
  • Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Preparation of Fund utilization certificate/reports.
