Description
Supervise and manage daily paint shop operations (primer, topcoat, powder coating, spray painting, etc.). Ensure adherence to process parameters, paint material consumption, and quality standards. Oversee surface preparation processes (degreasing, sanding, shot blasting, etc.). Monitor equipment health, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of paint booths, spray guns, ovens, etc. Implement and maintain 5S, Kaizen, and safety practices in the paint shop. Coordinate with Production, Quality, and PPC teams to meet production targets and dispatch timelines. Manage manpower planning, training, and shift scheduling. Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for paint defects (peeling, orange peel, color mismatch, etc.). Maintain documentation for audits, ISO/TS standards, and customer requirements. Q ualifications & Skills: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Chemical Engineering. 5 8 years of experience in paint shop operations (automotive, sheet metal, fabrication industry preferred). Knowledge of paint processes (wet paint, powder coating, e-coating, etc.). Hands-on experience with spray guns, paint booths, curing ovens. Strong leadership, team management & problem-solving skills. Familiarity with ISO/TS16949, IATF standards is an advantage.
