Senior Engineer II

As a Senior Engineer at American Express within the GRCT organization, you will play a crucial role in designing scalable and optimal solutions across the Compliance & Risk domains. You will have hands-on experience in configuring the ServiceNow platform and utilizing cutting-edge technology to provide the best solutions to meet business needs. Your responsibilities will include: - Participating in a wide range of activities across the portfolio, supporting functional capabilities and collaborating with other engineers, product owners, and staff engineers. - Ensuring timely delivery of development projects and being involved in all aspects of the development life cycle. - Completing technology/implementation design documentation and providing estimates for design, build, test, and implementation phases. - Conducting regular code reviews to ensure alignment with development and implementation standards, offering coaching and mentoring on design and coding techniques to engineers in the scrum team. - Assisting with updates to program specification/implementation documentation and preparing configurations for production with the scrum team. - Engaging in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, aligning with the wider testing strategy and providing feedback on implementation specifications. - Offering consultation to product owners with recommendations to drive their requirements to success and providing input into the technology roadmap and architectural direction based on product roadmaps. Qualifications required for this role include: - 5+ years hands-on experience in ServiceNow including Integrated Risk Management (IRM) solutions/components. - Overall 7-10 years of development experience, preferably full stack development experience. - ServiceNow Certified System Administrator credentials. - BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technology fields. - Working knowledge of GCP. - Experience with JavaScript, API (Restful), XML, Java, Jelly scripting, Angular JS, and building/implementing JS utilities. - Hands-on experience with ServiceNow configurations, workflows, scripting, UI policies, ACLs, integrations, and CMDB. - Understanding of GRC/IRM industry trends. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - 5+ years Agile experience as well as hands-on Scaled Agile Framework experience. - Machine Learning or Generative AI knowledge is a plus.
