Senior Engineer - BD- Tendering Renewable Energy

Role Purpose:

The BD Lead for Renewable Energy Division will drive market intelligence and lead generation to identify, evaluate, and prioritize profitable opportunities that align with the BUs strategic

objectives. They will scout for tenders, analyze market trends, and engage with key stakeholders to develop a robust project pipeline. The role includes assisting in sourcing strategic partnerships and JVs, strengthening client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to support competitive bidding and ensure the successful acquisition of high-value projects.

Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis :

• Gather and analyze market intelligence, including competitor activities, industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities, to provide a competitive edge and inform strategic decision-making
• Maintain a database of market information and competitor profiles to support bid decisions and identify opportunities for growth and diversification
• Prepare and present data-driven recommendations to senior management on which leads/tenders to prioritize based on potential profitability, strategic fit, and competitive positioning

Lead Generation & Client Engagement:

• Drive client engagements through targeted outreach, tailored proposals, and participation in key industry forums to strengthen relationships and unlock new business opportunities aligned with BU objectives
• Proactively identify and source profitable projects (e.g., state government projects, large-scale B2B opportunities) through relationship-based lead generation, proactive client networking and targeted market research
• Engage with key stakeholders from government and private sectors to secure new business opportunities and repeat engagements

Pipeline Development :

• Regularly track and update the pipeline status, ensuring alignment with market trends, business vision and internal capabilities
• Engage with key market stakeholders, including clients, industry bodies, and government agencies, to identify and cultivate qualified leads

Tender Sourcing:

• Oversee the daily search and review of online NITs from government portals
• Build & Lead a team of associates to ensure tenders are identified quickly, accurately, and in alignment with company capabilities
• Filter out irrelevant tenders and prioritize potential opportunities based on BU expertise and project capacity

Partnerships & Stakeholder Relationship Management :

• Assist in sourcing strategic partners, joint ventures (JVs), and alliances that align with the companys growth objectives and enhance pre-qualification
• Work collaboratively with legal and finance teams to structure agreements, manage negotiations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and partnership terms
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key government bodies, private clients, and JV partners
• Act as the primary contact for business development and tendering matters, ensuring seamless communication with external parties

Costing & Tender preparation :

Preparing tender includes all data /details required as per the tender requirements.

• Prepare costing and cashflows for participation in tenders
• I dentifying the cost drives and strategies to be implemented to prepare a competitive bid.
