Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Assembly & Material Planning

  • Develop and maintain detailed

    assembly plans

    for reactor systems and related equipment.
  • Plan and monitor

    material requirements

    for assembly, including bought-out items, machined parts, and fabricated components.
  • Review engineering drawings, BOMs, design changes, and technical documents to ensure accurate material planning.

2. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with

    Purchase

    ,

    Design

    , and

    Production

    teams to ensure alignment between material availability, engineering requirements, and assembly schedules.
  • Follow up with the Purchase team on order placements, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules.
  • Liaise with the Design team for clarifications, design changes, and engineering deviations.

3. Material Availability & Kitting

  • Drive

    kitting meetings

    to track status of all materials required for assembly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores to ensure

    100% material availability

    before assembly start.
  • Identify shortages, delays, and potential risks early and implement corrective actions.

4. Production & Assembly Execution Support

  • Update assembly plans based on real-time shop floor progress.
  • Support Production teams by resolving planning-related issues to prevent schedule slippages.
  • Ensure assembly readiness through availability of tools, fixtures, and documentation as required.

5. Customer Inspection & Dispatch Coordination

  • Coordinate with Quality and Production teams to ensure Reactors readiness for

    customer inspections

    and third-party audits.
  • Plan and track

    dispatch schedules

    , ensuring Material Availability for Dispatches on time.

6. Reviews & Reporting

  • Conduct regular

    review meetings with Purchase

    , highlighting key material gaps, critical orders, and supplier issues.
  • Present weekly/monthly progress reports on material readiness, assembly status, and dispatch performance.
  • Monitor KPIs such as material availability index, assembly adherence, and on-time delivery.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering or equivalent.
  • 48 years of experience

    in production planning, assembly planning, or material planning roles in manufacturing/engineering industries.
  • Experience in Glass Lined reactor assembly or pressure equipment manufacturing is an added advantage.

  • Proactive and detail-oriented.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive under tight timelines and multitasking conditions.
