Senior Electrical CAD Designer

Position Overview

This role is designed for a senior professional with both technical expertise and strong organizational skills. The position will be 50% Estimating, 25% Project Management, and 25% CAD Design. You will play a central role in developing accurate proposals, overseeing awarded projects, and producing technical drawings that support both bidding and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating (50%)

Review drawings, specifications, and RFPs to prepare detailed cost estimates.

Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical and low-voltage systems.

Develop and submit competitive bid packages and proposals.

Collaborate with procurement and sales to ensure accurate and profitable pricing.

Project Management (25%)

Oversee awarded projects from kickoff through completion

Manage schedules, budgets, submittals, and client communications.

Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and client requirements.

CAD Design (25%)

Prepare and revise CAD drawings, riser diagrams, and single-line diagrams.

Support project execution with shop drawings and as-builts.

Incorporate redlines and feedback from the field into updated documentation.

Ensure all designs meet NEC, NFPA, BICSI, and TIA/EIA standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in electrical and/or low-voltage contracting.

Proven experience working on projects in the U.S. market (commercial, industrial, or government).

Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit a plus).

Familiarity with estimating software (Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar).

Strong knowledge of U.S. codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, Title 24, BICSI, TIA/EIA).

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
