Senior Devops Engineer

EVIK seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer with over eight years of hands-on experience to join a dedicated team focused on building a robust, enterprise-grade SaaS platform. This role emphasizes designing clean, scalable cloud infrastructure primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS), implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform, and automating workflows to enhance engineering productivity. The ideal candidate thrives in long-term environments with a commitment to stability, reliability, and thoughtful DevOps practices rather than frequent firefighting. Although this position does not require managing a team, it involves close collaboration with backend, frontend, quality assurance, artificial intelligence, and database engineering teams to ensure seamless platform functionality and continuous delivery. The Senior DevOps Engineer leads efforts to build and improve continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, manage container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and establish monitoring and logging systems with tools like Prometheus and Grafana. The role demands strong fundamentals in Linux administration, Terraform modules and state management, container orchestration, and Helm charts. By setting up observability frameworks and supporting multi-tenant SaaS architectures, this engineer enables the entire development organization to operate efficiently and confidently deploy high-quality software. Their work directly impacts system reliability, security, and developer empowerment in a remote, full-time capacity based in Pakistan.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS for a multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platform.
• Develop and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines that integrate with various engineering teams to streamline software builds, testing, and releases.
• Utilize infrastructure as code principles primarily through Terraform to ensure reproducible and auditable cloud resource deployments.
• Manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate services with Kubernetes, including cluster management and scaling strategies.
• Establish and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to ensure production readiness and quick incident response.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend, frontend, QA, AI, and database engineers to align infrastructure capabilities with product and architectural goals.
• Promote security best practices across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to safeguard the platform and its data.
• Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve reliability, repeatability, and speed of engineering workflows.
• Document infrastructure designs, decisions, and standard operating procedures to create a knowledge-sharing environment and maintain clarity over evolving systems.
• Participate in strategic discussions to shape DevOps standards and governance rather than merely executing predefined playbooks.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools and methodologies that enhance platform scalability and performance without compromising system stability.
• Maintain a focus on long-term platform health by avoiding rushed changes in favor of well-planned, thoroughly tested infrastructure improvements.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to engineers on best practices for environment separation, access control, and infrastructure maintenance.
