DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM – SENIOR DEVELOPMENTAL THERAPIST (GURGAON)

Children First is a renowned Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service with over a decade of experience providing ethical, effective, and holistic solutions for children, adolescents, and young adults up to the age of 25. Led by Dr. Amit Sen, Dr. Shelja Sen, and Dr. Kavita Arora, our multidisciplinary team of committed, empathetic, and skilled professionals has grown to include experts in various areas of child and adolescent mental health. Since 2009, we have positively impacted the lives of over 13,000 children, youth, and families through our inclusive, collaborative approach that focuses on nurturing and supporting all aspects of a child’s development and wellbeing.

We are looking for a Senior Developmental Therapist to join our Gurgaon team. This role is envisioned for a skilled and experienced professional who can provide high-quality developmental therapeutic services to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental needs. As a senior team member, the therapist will also contribute to mentoring junior clinicians, strengthening team structure, and enhancing collaborative care within the multidisciplinary setup. The ideal candidate brings a strong developmental lens, a family-centered approach, and a passion for working with children across varied needs and abilities.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology/Developmental Psychology/Child Development from a reputed institution

  • Minimum 3–4 years of demonstrable experience working with children in clinical, therapeutic, or educational settings

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, preferably from NIPCCD
  • Additional certifications in sensory integration, neurodevelopmental interventions, or early intervention work with children/adolescents and their families

Job Requirements

1. Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments and create individualized therapy plans
  • Provide one-on-one therapy and intervention sessions for children with a range of neurodevelopmental concerns (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, Global Developmental Delay)
  • Collaborate closely with families to support implementation of strategies at home and school
  • Engage in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings with psychologists, psychiatrists, and other therapists
  • Facilitate group sessions, caregiver training modules, and parent support work
  • Support capacity-building and mentoring of junior team members
  • Opportunity to participate in internal trainings, outreach programmes, and community work

2. Desired Skills and Competencies

  • Strong foundation in developmental theories, neurodiversity, and therapeutic practices
  • Ability to develop creative, play-based, and strengths-focused interventions
  • Skilled in documentation, report writing, and case planning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, caregivers, and colleagues
  • Fluent in Hindi and English
  • Organised, dependable, and able to manage caseloads independently
  • Collaborative, ethical, and sensitive to family and community diversity
  • Open to reflective practice, ongoing learning, and supervision
