Job Description

Job Summary:

Senior Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop plastic components for injection moulding applications.
  • Prepare 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX).
  • Conduct feasibility studies, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
  • Work closely with the tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability.
  • Review mould designs, gate locations, cooling systems, and parting lines.
  • Participate in product development from concept to production release.
  • Implement design changes and manage design documentation.
  • Support trial runs, defect analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Tool Engineering.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in

    plastic injection mould design and product development

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    mould mechanisms

    ,

    material selection

    , and

    manufacturing processes

    .
  • Proficiency in

    CATIA V5 / NX / SolidWorks

    .
  • Good understanding of

    GD&T

    ,

    DFM/DFA

    , and

    mould flow analysis

    .
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in automotive interior/exterior or electrical component design.
  • Knowledge of

    mould flow simulation software

    (e.g., Moldflow, Moldex3D).
  • Exposure to

    APQP / PPAP / DFMEA

    processes.
