Senior Database Reliability Engineer

As a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) at Qualys, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our database-centric SaaS platform that utilizes technologies such as Oracle, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Ceph. Your dedication to mastering multiple technologies and automating routine tasks will be instrumental in maintaining the 24x7 service we provide to customers globally. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and fine-tune Oracle, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, and Ceph in a multi-DC environment. - Identify and address performance bottlenecks through performance tuning activities. - Safeguard the integrity and security of the databases. - Monitor performance metrics and adjust configuration parameters to optimize query responses. - Conduct installations, testing, and patching of databases, ensuring data integrity and system reliability. - Manage storage, archiving, backup, and recovery processes to guarantee operational continuity. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to enhance service quality through database optimizations. - Dive deep into business applications to propose and implement database and architecture enhancements. Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing SQL and No-SQL databases. - Proficiency in diagnostic tools for performance analysis and troubleshooting to enhance database efficiency. - Understanding of the relationships between databases, business applications, and operating systems. - Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, as well as real-time data synchronization. - Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities. - Ability to collaborate with diverse teams to resolve data-related issues. - Experience in large-scale production environments. - Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and Grafana would be advantageous.
