Senior Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Kadel Labs, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing both relational and NoSQL databases. Your responsibilities will include ensuring database performance, security, backups, disaster recovery, and high availability. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Install, configure, and maintain relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. - Optimize database queries, indexing, and system performance to achieve high transaction rates and low latency. - Implement and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high-availability solutions like clustering and replication to minimize downtime. - Manage user access, data encryption, auditing, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Administer databases in cloud environments like AWS and Azure, and automate DBA tasks using scripting and DevOps tools. - Continuously monitor database health, proactively resolve issues, and provide timely support for database-related incidents. - Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate database solutions with application logic and maintain data consistency across environments. - Maintain detailed technical documentation for database configuration, troubleshooting, and operational procedures. In terms of technical skills, you should have: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration with hands-on experience in managing relational and NoSQL databases. - Proficiency in managing MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB. - Experience in installation, initial configuration of database systems, schema design, and environment preparation across on-premise and cloud infrastructures. - Proficiency in database migration, replication, and clustering across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. - Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. - Experience in implementing backup strategies, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions. - Solid understanding of database security practices, including user management, data encryption, and compliance with regulatory standards. - Hands-on experience with cloud database services like AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database. - Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance tuning software.
