The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Azure with 4+ years of expertise in designing, building, and maintaining modern data platforms on Azure. This role offers the chance to own complex data engineering solutions, optimize large-scale data workflows, and work at the forefront of cloud-native AI-driven analytics.

You will collaborate closely with Data Science, AI, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure data systems that power real-time insights for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Data Platform Development

• 
  Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and integration processes using Azure services.

• 
  Implement scalable data architectures leveraging Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake.

Data Engineering & Optimization

• 
  Build and optimize data ingestion and transformation processes for batch, streaming, and real-time analytics.

• 
  Ensure data quality, security, and governance across the platform.

• 
  Apply performance tuning for large-scale datasets to improve latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.

Collaboration & Delivery

• 
  Work closely with Data Scientists, BI teams, and application developers to meet business requirements.

• 
  Support advanced analytics and AI initiatives by enabling accessible, well-structured data.

• 
  Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and DevOps practices for deployment and monitoring.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• 
  Stay updated on Azure cloud-native innovations and recommend modern tools and frameworks.

• 
  Automate workflows for scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 
  4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in Microsoft Azure ecosystems.

• 
  Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage.

• 
  Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and one additional language (Scala, Java, or C# preferred).

• 
  Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and advanced ETL/ELT design patterns.

• 
  Knowledge of Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, and other real-time processing services.

• 
  Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.

• 
  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
