Cloud Architect/ Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Summary:

A Cloud Architect specializing in Kubernetes and Terraform will design and oversee the deployment of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform. This role involves architecting containerized applications with Kubernetes, automating infrastructure setup through Terraform, and driving cloud adoption and modernization initiatives. This role requires a candidate who merges deep technical expertise with a clear strategic vision to build cloud solutions that fulfill both business objectives and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

• Architect, design, and oversee the deployment of multi cloud solutions on GCP/Azure/IBM Cloud etc.
• Lead the implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and management.
• Lead and manage the cloud security posture initiatives working alongside the security operations team.
• Design and implement container orchestration strategies using Kubernetes (GKE/AKS etc to ensure scalable and resilient application delivery.
• Architect and manage Kubernetes (GKE) clusters , including provisioning , scaling , networking , monitoring and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure architecture meets performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Provide guidance and best practices on cloud architecture, cost optimization, and governance.
• Lead cloud migration projects and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, and governance policies.
• Evaluate new cloud technologies and tools to improve architecture and operations.
• Proficiency in hybrid cloud networking, managing secure connections between on-premise infrastructure and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud),
• Ensure high availability, backup , disaster recovery (RPO/RTO), and business continuity strategies are effective and tested.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture with focus on google cloud platform
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with GKE , container orchestration and Terraform for infrastructure automation

Technical Skills:

• Experience in setting up Cloud foundations involving networking and security setup.
• Experience in Kubernetes (GKE/AKS) migration, network design, data migration strategies,
• Experience in setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Understanding of the PaaS database Mongo & PostgresSQL database
• Strong understanding of CI/CD , GitOps
• Experience with monitoring tools like Kibana, and Grafana
