Senior Civil Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination:

Assist in preparation of project execution plans, schedules, and resource planning for civil works.

Coordinate with consultants, architects, contractors, and other engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, utility).

Plan daily and weekly activities to meet project deadlines.

Support the Project Manager in monitoring project progress and updating status reports.

2. Site Execution & Supervision:

Supervise and execute civil construction works such as foundations, RCC structures, flooring, roads, drains, and finishing.

Ensure that work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Manage site manpower, materials, and equipment effectively.

Monitor and control subcontractor activities to ensure timelines and quality compliance.

3. Quality Assurance & Control:

Conduct inspection and testing of materials (cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, etc.).

Implement QA/QC procedures as per company and client requirements.

Maintain site quality records, checklists, and inspection reports.

4. Estimation, BOQ & Billing:

Prestare quantity take ofh, BOL, and cost estimates for civil works.

Verify contractor bills, measurements, and reconciliation of materials.

Support procurement team with technical inputs for civil materials and subcontracting

5. Drawing & Documentation:

Review and understand all civil and structural drawings.

Highlight discrepancies or design issues to consultants and resolve them quickly.

Maintain updated site records - drawings, inspection reports, site instructions, and progress photos.

Support in preparing as-built drawings after completion.

6. Safety & Compliance:

Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety norms and environmental regulations.

Conduct toolbox talks and ensure PPE usage on site.

Report and assist in resolving any site incidents or near misses.

7. Coordination with Other Departments:

Interface with MEP, HVAC, Firefighting, and Process equipment teams for civil-related requirements.

Ensure smooth handover of civil areas for subsequent mechanical and electrical works.

8. Project Handover:

Conduct final inspection of completed works and punch list closure.

Assist in documentation and handover of civil structures to client/operations team.

Preferred candidate profile:

Strong knowledge of RCC, steel, industrial flooring, and foundation design/execution.

Familiar with construction codes and standards (IS, ASTM, etc.).

Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project / Primavera (basic level), and MS Excel.

Ability to handle multiple contractors and teams at site.

Excellent communication and reporting skills.
