Job Overview:

As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for leading formulation development, conducting laboratory experiments, scaling up manufacturing processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, QA/QC, production, and marketing teams to bring innovative, safe, and effective personal care products to market

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize formulations for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products Conduct stability studies, compatibility testing, and sensory evaluations Maintain detailed lab records and documentation for each formulation Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate raw materials and select suitable ingredients Ensure formulations meet applicable cosmetic regulations (BIS, FDA, etc) Support production scale-ups and troubleshoot formulation issues during manufacturing Stay updated with trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the cosmetic industry Mentor and guide junior chemists and lab assistants

Hard Skills:

Expertise in cosmetic chemistry and formulation science Proficient in analytical testing techniques and lab equipment usage Strong understanding of emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, pH, viscosity, etc Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like BIS, FDA (India), ISO, and GMP

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration Meticulous attention to detail and documentation Creative mindset with a passion for innovation Leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field Certification in Cosmetic Formulation or Regulatory Affairs is a plus

Preferred Experience:

5-8 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation Prior experience in a private label manufacturing environment preferred Experience with natural, organic, or clean beauty product development is an advantage
