Job Description

You are a Senior Category Manager at Chemist Box Private Limited, a well-known multi-outlet retail pharmacy chain in Bihar with a significant expansion plan in place. Your primary responsibility is to manage a specific group or non-medicine category of products within the company. This role requires you to oversee pricing strategies and promotional activities to enhance consumer appeal. Effective vendor relationships and product range management are also key aspects of your job. To excel in this role, you must possess a deep understanding of consumer needs and the retail landscape. A commercial mindset, thorough knowledge of marketing and sales principles, and exceptional communication skills are essential for success as a category manager. Your ultimate aim is to boost sales and profitability in non-medicine segments to drive sustainable growth for the business. Key Responsibilities: 1. Category Management: - Develop and execute the vision for the assigned category, including strategic planning and implementation. - Identify target sectors, customers, product outlines, brands, and differentiation strategies to drive innovation and maintain category relevance. - Analyze competition and explore alternate channels to identify high-demand products and enhance sales. - Generate monthly category analysis reports and optimize sales through effective pricing, promotions, margin management, and inventory control. 2. Merchandising: - Implement placement and planogram strategies to improve category turnover. - Plan merchandising strategies, analyze sales data, forecast product needs, and collaborate with buyers for timely supplies. - Create layout plans, forecast profits, monitor stock movement, and plan budgets to ensure effective merchandise planning. 3. New Product Development: - Develop product strategies aligned with business goals and customer insights to drive value creation. - Establish a robust pipeline for new product development and enhancements. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement seamless product strategies and branding initiatives. 4. Branding: - Grow the branding business line by establishing strong relationships and maximizing branding revenue. - Develop and implement promotional plans to drive consumer excitement and increase sales. 5. Vendor Management: - Evaluate vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and build collaborative relationships to enhance sales and profitability. - Conduct business reviews with vendors to achieve mutually beneficial goals. Requirements: - 5-7 years of experience in Category Management, preferably in FMCG or F&B sectors. - Strong expertise in new product development and consumer-centric strategies. - Commercial awareness, market research skills, and analytical abilities. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills. - Attention to detail, creativity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
