Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced CAD Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in vehicle body structure design and vehicle integration to support the development of next-generation electric vehicles. The role involves detailed design, packaging, and integration of body and structural systems, working closely with vehicle architecture, CAE, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting electric vehicle development programs from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop vehicle body and structural components using SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo.
  • Own detailed CAD development for BIW / body structure parts including brackets, reinforcements, mounts, and interfaces.
  • Perform vehicle-level packaging and system integration across body, chassis, battery, powertrain, and electrical domains.
  • Manage interfaces, tolerances, GD&T, and assembly feasibility.
  • Release 2D drawings with proper standards, notes, and manufacturing intent.
  • Work closely with CAE teams for structural, crash, and durability feedback and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Support prototype builds, design reviews, issue resolution, and design updates through development phases.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
  • Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and configuration control.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in automotive body structure design and vehicle integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Vehicle body architecture and structural load paths
    • Packaging, clearance, and interface management
    • Sheet metal and structural part design
    • GD&T and automotive drawing standards
  • Experience in EV or vehicle development programs is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional engineering environment with CAE, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with BIW, closures, underbody, or battery enclosure structures.
  • Exposure to crash, durability, or stiffness-driven design loops.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds or pilot production.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on next-generation electric vehicle programs.
  • Exposure to the full vehicle development lifecycle – from concept to production.
  • A technically strong, collaborative engineering environment.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience.
