🚀 Senior Backend Engineer – Equity Only

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our early-stage robotics startup in the pet space. This is an equity-only role with the chance to shape core systems from the ground up.

What you’ll do:

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems

• Design and implement AI/ML pipelines for real-time applications

• Optimize databases, caching layers, and messaging systems for scale

• Build and maintain secure, reliable cloud infrastructure and APIs

• Collaborate with hardware and frontend teams to integrate complex systems

• Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, deployment, and monitoring

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional backend development experience

• Expert in Python, Node.js, Go, or similar backend languages

• Deep understanding of database design, SQL/NoSQL, caching, and message queues

• Proven experience designing and deploying AI/ML pipelines in production

• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Skilled in system architecture, performance optimization, and reliability engineering

• Ability to take ownership of complex systems and drive them end-to-end
