Role Overview

Senior Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities

Ruby on Rails and Node.js

●     Architect scalable, secure, and high-availability backend systems

RESTful APIs

●     Optimize application performance, database queries, and background jobs

code quality, security, and maintainability

●     Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams

●     Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms

●     Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions

●     Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance

●     Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability

Required Skills & Qualifications

Ruby on Rails and Node.js

Ruby on Rails

Node.js

PostgreSQL / MySQL

NoSQL databases

●     Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and performance tuning

AWS / Azure / GCP

Docker

CI/CD pipelines

●     Knowledge of background processing tools (Sidekiq, Bull, etc.)

authentication, authorization, and security best practices

third-party API integrations

●     Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows

●     Knowledge of system monitoring and logging tools is a plus

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

●     Experience with event-driven systems or message queues

●     Exposure to frontend technology (React.js)

●     Experience in startup or product-based environments
