Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement

  end-to-end automation

  for:
• Web UI using

  Cypress (TypeScript)

• APIs using

  Postman/Newman or REST Assured

• Mobile apps using

  Appium with Java

• Automate

  in-sprint user stories

  and ensure tests are merged with feature code.
• Build

  stable locator strategies

  using test-ids, accessibility IDs, and explicit waits.
• Create reusable utilities including:
  
• Data factories and fixtures
  
• API seeding and test data utilities
  
• Define and enforce automation coding standards, linting, formatting, and PR checks.
  
• Own test execution in

  CI/CD pipelines

  (Jenkins/GitLab):
• Parallel execution and sharding
  
• Flaky test detection and quarantine
  
• Artifacts and dashboards
  
• Generate and publish test reports using

  Allure / HTML / JUnit

  .
• Collaborate closely with developers and QA to debug failures and close defects quickly.
  
• Mentor junior engineers on framework usage, debugging, and test design best practices.
  
• Contribute to contract testing, mocks, and stubs where applicable.
  

Must-Have Skills

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in

  test automation

• Strong experience with

  Cypress (JS/TS)

  including custom commands and fixtures
• API automation using

  Postman/Newman or REST Assured

• Mobile automation using

  Appium (Java/Kotlin)

  for Android & iOS
• Strong understanding of testing fundamentals (negative cases, boundaries, flake prevention)
  
• Experience with

  Jenkins or GitLab CI

• Strong Git knowledge (branching, PRs, merge conflicts)
  
• Excellent debugging and root-cause analysis skills
  
• Exposure to

  Fintech or business-critical systems

  (security, auditability, reliability)

Good to Have

• Contract testing (Pact), mocks, or test containers
  
• Jira/Xray traceability and test analytics dashboards
  
• Performance insights for UI/API (Lighthouse, API timings)
  
• Accessibility and internationalization testing
  
• Docker basics for local environment setup
