Senior Accountant (Retail Division)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations for multiple retail outlets.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Monitor and analyze sales, inventory levels, cost of goods sold (COGS), and gross margins to identify trends and variances.
• Support inventory accounting, including stock counts, shrinkage analysis, and reconciliation of physical to system records.
• Coordinate with store managers and operations to ensure accurate revenue and expense recording.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring proper cut-offs and accruals.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filing periods.
• Develop and implement internal controls and accounting process improvements.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and accounting staff.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience

• Proven experience with

  multi-location retail accounting

• Strong understanding of

• Hands-on experience with

  ERP/accounting software
